Serra Club of Tucson 2010-11 Raffle Calendar Contest Rules
The Serra Club of Tucson is an IRS registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Raffle is open to citizens or permanent residents of the United States who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry. Subject to the maximum number of tickets (3,000), there is no limit to the number of tickets that may be purchased by any one individual. Cost of the raffle tickets is $20 each.
The raffle drawing will be held at the Vocations Office at the Diocese of Tucson Pastoral Center. After drawing a winning ticket for that day, that ticket is re-deposited into the raffle. This means that a single ticket may win multiple prizes throughout the year
The number of tickets sold and distributed determines the odds of winning, but in no case will more than 3,000 tickets be sold. If fewer than 2,000 tickets are sold, the prizes will be scaled to amount of tickets sold. All cash prize winners assumes full responsibility for all fees and all state, local, and federal taxes.
Winners need not be present to win. Prize money will be awarded in the form of a check and mailed to the person and address as written on the ticket via USPS First Class Mail. Grand Prize winner may be required to pick up prize in person at 111 S Church Ave, Tucson, AZ 85701 for purposes of being photographed for promotional purposes.
Prize winners agree to be photographed after receiving their prize and by entering the raffle grants the Serra Club of Tucson permission to use said photographs for promotional purposes. Per IRS ruling, the purchase of raffle tickets is not considered a gift and does not qualify as a tax-deductible charitable contribution.
The Serra Club of Tucson is required to comply with all IRS regulations pertaining to: a) Reporting of all winnings over $600.00 and b) Tax withholding on cumulative prizes greater than $5000.00. Should taxes be required to be withheld, the withholding will be made from the prize money before it is disbursed to the winner.
All proceeds from the raffle will be distributed through the Serra Club of Tucson in accordance with its normal procedure for supporting the fostering, promoting and affirming of religious vocations.
The Serra Club of Tucson reserves the right to reject any entry forms that are submitted with payment that does
not constitute "good funds". Collection of payments due to returned checks are subject to the rules and procedures of the Pima County Attorney’s Office and may incur a $25 collection fee. Defective entry forms will be disqualified by the Serra Club of Tucson and any individuals and/or entities that submit such entry forms will be notified of the rejection as soon a practical under the circumstances. The Serra Club of Tucson is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected or undelivered mail.
All checks and/or money orders submitted for payment must be payable in US funds to the Serra Club of Tucson. This raffle is void where prohibited.
